- Saint Jean de Côle – Les Floralies – Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th This is one of the prettiest villages in our region on any normal day but during this ‘féte weekend’ the whole village is transformed with an exhibition by artisans and the regions florists. See here

- Grand-Brassac – Concerts and soirées – From beginning June to End of September – Every Saturday evening at Guinguette de Renamont
- Verteillac – Sunday 20th An exhibition of old motorcycles takes place from 10am – 4pm at the Place de la Marie. All types, makes and ages of bike are welcome to take part and prizes will be awarded at 3pm.
- Perigueux (& All Europe) – Fête de la musique – Monday 21st June Free music events all over France including open air concerts and street music. Absolutely brilliant event for live music from punk to classical – a must see if you’re here during this! See here!
- Bourdeilles – Feu de la Saint-Jean – Monday 21st The village celebrates the patron saint & summer solstice with a costumed extravaganza and ‘Bal Traditionelle occitan’ with music & fireworks.
- Bordeaux – Fête du Vin & The River Festival – Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th 2010 A major tourist attraction for wine lovers! Over 300,000 visitors are expected from all over the world to flock to the quayside’s and follow the 2km trail of festivities day and night. Includes free concerts, fireworks and traditional barrel races. See here & More details to follow in the coming months… nb THIS EVENT IS ONLY HELD EVERY ‘OTHER’ YEAR – NEXT ONE IS 2010!!!
July
- Perigueux – Night Markets (Marché nocturne) – Every Wednesday evening during July & August.

- Riberac – Live music & bands – Every Tuesday Evening Free live entertainment whilst dining or just having a drink alfresco on the streets of Riberac.

- All The Perigord Region – La Félibrée – Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th This year’s host is ‘Montignac’ – (see here to see the towns preparations). Every major town and city in the Perigord region celebrates the ‘Langue dOc’ (the occitan language and customs of SW France), promoting it’s traditional activities and uniqueness. Each year a different town is chosen to host the celebration with a procession where a queen is elected and the streets and houses are decorated and traditional costumes worn by the townsfolk. You will find most villages are decorated during this time whilst holding their own fêtes. see here
- All France – Bastille Day – Wednesday 14th The biggest party in France, a national French holiday to commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération. Nearly every town and village hosts large firework displays etc. In the centre of Perigueux the fireworks are over the river and start at 10.30pm.
- Montagrier – Foire au goût et l’artisanat – Wednesday 14th -
- Mensignac – La Memoire des Humbles – Friday 16th to Sunday 18th – Open air theatre showcasing many different acts including comediens, music & a French adaption of ‘The Full Monty’ for the ladies!

- Bourdeilles – Marché producteurs de Pays – Every Wednesday Evening from 6pm on the 16th – local producers evening markets with alternating walks with torches and music – possibility to dine – reservations – 05 53 03 42 96
- Tocane St Apre – Festival des ‘Rencontres Musicales Irlandaises – Sunday 18th to Wednesday 21st Irish musical festival that lasts all week. 2010 is the 20th Anniverdary for this event and primises to be a great one! see here
- Bergerac – Music Festival – Fri 23rd July – Sat 14th Aug Aug – The 21st Bergerac Music Festival with exceptional performances and prestigious venues, makes this one of the most unique festivals in the South West of France. see here!
- Riberac – ‘Le Grand Souk’ – Fri 23rd July – Sat 24th – Live music in the streets of Riberac from 6pm both nights. This event is getting more and more popular and the singer ‘???’ (Wish I was a punk rocker) is appearing among many others. See here for full list of artists etc!

- Douchapt – Raid Val de Dronne – Sunday 25th Multisports adventure trail with 2 man teams. 55km track along the Dronne Valley in a competitive but friendly atmosphere! see here

- Bordeaux – Marathon des Châteaux du Medoc – Saturday 11th The winner is awarded with their own body weight in claret! Takes in 59 vineyards. 2000 places reserved for non-French competitors. See here for more details!
- Angoulême – Circuit des Ramparts – 3rd weekend in September Every year Angoulême plays host to this very special motoring event. The streets in the medieval town are closed to normal traffic and echo to the sound of historic racing cars. see here

Also, throughout the summer months you will find many open-air ‘Brocantes’ (antiques fairs) and ‘VideGreniers’ (car boot sales) around the Dordogne region – see here for dates and venues.! Great for picking up a genuine French antique or bargain!
